Corporate Meditation and Wellbeing Program
“Stress” has been dubbed the “Health Epidemic of the 21st Century” by the World Health Organisation.
The effect of stress on our emotional and physical health can be devastating and among other things has been shown to negatively impact work productivity.
A recent report found that the inaction of employers to address the mental wellbeing of their staff is costing Australian businesses $11bn annually - $4.7 billion in absenteeism, $6.1 billion in presenteeism and $146 million in compensation claims, according to a PWC and Beyond Blue report on mental health in the workplace.
Beyond Blue’s Heads Up Initiative found that having a mentally healthy workplace was the second most important factor in an employee’s decision to accept a new position after their pay level.
In order to help companies address this issue and support the mental health of their employees we offer a standard 3 session, workplace meditation and wellbeing program, the following being a brief outline of what will be covered;
-
Scientifically proven to reduce stress, meditation naturally counteracts the effects of the fight-or-flight reaction by;
Lowering heart rate
Normalising blood flow
Slowing down breathing
Reducing the release of harmful stress hormones
Strengthening immunity
In this session we will explore among other things the many benefits, the science, the many different types of meditation, how to find a style that best suits you and how to make it a daily practice.
-
In this session we will explore breathwork as a complementary practice or alternative to meditation and practise several different methods for slowing down breathing, reducing heart rate and explain how breathing can quickly help us go from fight or flight (sympathetic nervous system) to rest and digest (parasympathetic nervous system) making it a useful tool for anxiety sufferers.
-
As at March 2022, it was reported that 40% of Australians are struggling to sleep for 7-9 hours. 59.4% experience symptoms at least 3-4 times per week, including trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking too early and not being able to get back to sleep.
Restful sleep along with what we eat provides the foundation for our mental and physical wellbeing.
In this session we will explore proven methods for improving the quality of our sleep as well as what things we need to avoid.
